Designed and made right here in Melbourne, Animalia Art references a range of Australian native animals, and renders them in architectural steel, ready for installation in your outdoor space. Like street art popping up in your laneway, Animalia Art is a little piece of covert art for your garden. Simply hammer your animal into a fence or verandah post, or even a live tree (for very hard timbers, you may need to pre-drill, before hammering), and ta-dah, your own cheeky piece of garden art to admire!
For these animals, Animalia collaborated with Taungurung man, Mick Harding. Working under the name Ngarga Warendj (Dancing Wombat), Mick's work references the legends of the Kulin Nation. The Platypus reference Budja, known as a busy burrower and forager. The Long Necked Turtle is Barebin Buk, spirit animal for many groups in South Eastern Australia. The Goanna represents Dhulin, one of the important figures in the creation myth of Bundjil. "Dhulin the Goanna is one of the six special men who helped Bundjil the Wedge Tailed Eagle - our Creator - when he created the Earth. Bundjil taught all the special men how to look after his creations - the mountains and the rivers, man, woman and all the animals. He taught them how to make weapons, how to fight with them, and how to behave with one another. After Bundjil had finished, Bellum Bellum the Musk Crow blew Dhulin and the other special men to the stars." - Mick Harding
- Made from 3mm COR-TEN Steel, the surface of which will rust to a deep brown
- Easily hammered into most wooden structures, or directly into soil
- Designed and made in Victoria
- Beautifully packaged, great for gifting!
- Bogong Moth measures 19 x 15cm
Each Animalia piece is packaged in a robust and attractive cardboard sleeve.

Apiary Made have recently collaborated with various Australian Artists to create these exclusive ranges of Designer Beeswax Wraps.
Artist Alice Nampijinpa Michaels from the Warlukurlangu Artists Aboriginal Corporation (Central Australia) has contributed a series of colourful designs, exemplary of the colourful Yuendumu arts movement.Â
Created using certified organic cotton, pure beeswax, and organic jojoba butter, these artisanal wraps are perfect for storing cheese, bread, herbs, sandwiches etc, or for covering a bowl of left-overs. Beeswax wraps can extend the life of your food, reducing food waste, while replacing single-use plastics. Simply use the heat of your hands to shape the wrap around your food or bowl. The wrap will stick to itself and create a seal. When cool the beeswax will hold its shape.
- Beeswax wraps are washable and reusable and will last up to 12 months, being used on average of a few times a week
- Simply wash in cool water with gentle soap, air-dry and store in a cool place until your next use
- Fully biodegradable, zero waste and environmentally friendly - just pop them in the compost once you have finished with them!
- The organics jojoba oil and beeswax create a naturally anti-bacterial environment
- Ethically sourced and cruelty free
- Handmade in Australia
Included in the pack:
- 1 x Small (20 x 21cm)
- 1 x Medium (25 x 26cm)
- 1 x Large (32 x 35cm)
- This set includes a randomly selected range of designs by your selected artist - your item may not be exactly as pictured here!
Important note: Avoid raw meats and heat sources
